Deuteronomy 16

Deuteronomy 16

16:1 Observe the month of new [corn], and thou shalt sacrifice the passover to Yehovah thy Elohim; because in the month of new corn thou camest out of Egypt by night.

16:2 And thou shalt sacrifice the passover to Yehovah thy Elohim, sheep and oxen in the place which Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose to have his name called upon it.

16:3 Thou shalt not eat leaven with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened [bread] with it, bread of affliction, because ye came forth out of Egypt in haste; that ye may remember the day of your coming forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

16:4 Leaven shall not be seen with thee in all thy borders for seven days, and there shall not be left of the flesh which thou shalt sacrifice at even on the first day until the morning.

16:5 thou shalt not have power to sacrifice the passover in any of the cities, which Yehovah thy Elohim gives thee.

16:6 But in the place which Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose, to have his name called there, thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even at the setting of the sun, at the time when thou camest out of Egypt.

16:7 And thou shalt boil and roast and eat it in the place, which Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose; and thou shalt return in the morning, and go to thy house.

16:8 Six days shalt thou eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day is a holiday, a feast to Yehovah thy Elohim: thou shalt not do in it any work, save what must be done by any one.

16:9 Seven weeks shalt thou number to thyself; when thou hast begun [to put] the sickle to the corn, thou shalt begin to number seven weeks.

16:10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks to Yehovah thy Elohim, accordingly as thy hand has power in as many things as Yehovah thy Elohim shall give thee.

16:11 And thou shalt rejoice before Yehovah thy Elohim, thou and thy son, and thy daughter, thy man-servant and thy maid-servant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow which dwells among you, in whatsoever place Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose, that his name should be called there.

16:12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and thou shalt observe and do these commands.

16:13 Thou shalt keep for thyself the feast of tabernacles seven days, when thou gatherest in [thy produce] from thy corn-floor and thy wine-press.

16:14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite, and the stranger, and the orphan, and the widow that is in thy cities.

16:15 Seven days shalt thou keep a feast to Yehovah thy Elohim in the place which Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose for himself; and if Yehovah thy Elohim shall bless thee in all thy fruits, and in every work of thy hands, then thou shalt rejoice.

16:16 Three times in the year shall all thy males appear before Yehovah thy Elohim in the place which Yehovah shall choose in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: thou shalt not appear before Yehovah thy Elohim empty.

16:17 Each one according to his ability, according to the blessing of the Lord thy Elohim which he has given thee.

16:18 Thou shalt make for thyself judges and officers in thy cities, which Yehovah thy Elohim gives thee in [thy] tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment:

16:19 they shall not wrest judgment, nor favour persons, nor receive a gift; for gifts blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

16:20 Thou shalt justly pursue justice, that ye may live, and go in and inherit the land which Yehovah thy Elohim gives thee.

16:21 Thou shalt not plant for thyself a grove; thou shalt not plant for thyself any tree near the altar of thy Elohim.

16:22 Thou shalt not set up for thyself a pillar, which Yehovah thy Elohim hates.

16:1 Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover unto Yehovah thy Elohim: for in the month of Abib Yehovah thy Elohim brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.

16:2 Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the passover unto Yehovah thy Elohim, of the flock and the herd, in the place which Yehovah shall choose to place his name there.

16:3 Thou shalt eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shalt thou eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that thou mayest remember the day when thou camest forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of thy life.

16:4 And there shall be no leavened bread seen with thee in all thy coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which thou sacrificedst the first day at even, remain all night until the morning.

16:5 Thou mayest not sacrifice the passover within any of thy gates, which Yehovah thy Elohim giveth thee:

16:6 But at the place which Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose to place his name in, there thou shalt sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that thou camest forth out of Egypt.

16:7 And thou shalt roast and eat it in the place which Yehovah thy Elohim shall choose: and thou shalt turn in the morning, and go unto thy tents.

16:8 Six days thou shalt eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to Yehovah thy Elohim: thou shalt do no work therein.

16:9 Seven weeks shalt thou number unto thee: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn.

16:10 And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto Yehovah thy Elohim with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto the Yehovah thy Elohim, according as Yehovah thy Elohim hath blessed thee:

16:11 And thou shalt rejoice before Yehovah thy Elohim, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which Yehovah thy Elohim hath chosen to place his name there.

16:12 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt: and thou shalt observe and do these statutes.

16:13 Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that thou hast gathered in thy corn and thy wine:

16:14 And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates.

16:15 Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto Yehovah thy Elohim in the place which Yehovah shall choose: because Yehovah thy Elohim shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands, therefore thou shalt surely rejoice.

16:16 Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before Yehovah thy Elohim in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before Yehovah empty:

16:17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Yehovah thy Elohim which he hath given thee.

16:18 Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the Yehovah thy Elohim giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

16:19 Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous.

16:20 That which is altogether just shalt thou follow, that thou mayest live, and inherit the land which Yehovah thy Elohim giveth thee.

16:21 Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of Yehovah thy Elohim, which thou shalt make thee.

16:22 Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which Yehovah thy Elohim hateth.
