Deuteronomy 27

Deuteronomy 27

27:1 And Moses and the elders of Israel commanded, saying, Keep all these commands, all that command you this day.

27:2 And it shall come to pass in the day when ye shall cross over Jordan into the land which Yehovah thy Elohim gives thee, that thou shalt set up for thyself great stones, and shalt plaster them with plaster.

27:3 And thou shalt write on these stones all the words of this law, as soon as ye have crossed Jordan, when ye are entered into the land, which Yehovah Elohim of thy fathers gives thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, according as Yehovah Elohim of thy fathers said to thee.

27:4 And it shall be as soon as ye are gone over Jordan, ye shall set up these stones, which I command thee this day, on mount Gaebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.

27:5 And thou shalt build there an altar to Yehovah thy Elohim, an altar of stones; thou shalt not lift up iron upon it.

27:6 Of whole stones shalt thou build an altar to Yehovah thy Elohim, and thou shalt offer upon it whole-burnt-offerings to Yehovah thy Elohim.

27:7 And thou shalt there offer a peace-offering; and thou shalt eat and be filled, and rejoice before Yehovah thy Elohim.

27:8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all this law very plainly.

27:9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hear, O Israel; this day thou art become a people to Yehovah thy Elohim.

27:10 And thou shalt hearken to the voice of Yehovah thy Elohim, and shalt do all his commands, and his ordinances, as many as I command thee this day.

27:11 And Moses charged the people on that day, saying,

27:12 These shall stand to bless the people on mount Garizin having gone over Jordan; Symeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.

27:13 And these shall stand for cursing on mount Gaebal; Ruben, Gad, and Aser, Zabulon, Dan, and Nephthali.

27:14 And the Levites shall answer and say to all Israel with a loud voice,

27:15 Cursed [is] the man whosoever shall make a graven or molten image, an abomination to Yehovah, the work of the hands of craftsmen, and shall put it in a secret place: and all the people shall answer and say, So be it.

27:6 Cursed is the man that dishonours his father or his mother: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:17 Cursed is he that removes his neighbour's landmarks: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:18 Cursed is he that makes the blind to wander in the way: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:19 Cursed is every one that shall pervert the judgment of the stranger, and orphan, and widow: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:20 Cursed is he that lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:21 Cursed is he that lies with any beast: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:22 Cursed is he that lies with his sister by his father or his mother: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:23 Cursed is he that lies with his daughter-in-law: and all the people shall say, So be it. Cursed is he that lies with his wife's sister: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:24 Cursed is he that smites his neighbour secretly: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:25 Cursed is he whosoever shall have taken a bribe to slay an innocent man: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:26 Cursed is every man that continues not in all the words of this law to do them: and all the people shall say, So be it.

27:1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.

27:2 And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which Yehovah thy Elohim giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:

27:3 And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which Yehovah thy Elohim giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as Yehovah Elohim of thy fathers hath promised thee.

27:4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaster them with plaster.

27:5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto Yehovah thy Elohim, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.

27:6 Thou shalt build the altar of Yehovah thy Elohim of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto Yehovah thy Elohim:

27:7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before Yehovah thy Elohim.

27:8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.

27:9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the Yehovah thy Elohim.

27:10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of Yehovah thy Elohim, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

27:11 And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,

27:12 These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:

27:13 And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

27:14 And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

27:15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto Yehovah, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.

27:16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbor's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbor secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.

27:26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.
