Psalm 50

Psalm 50

A Psalm for Asaph.

50:1 The Elohim of gods, Yehovah, has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun to the going down [thereof].

50:2 Out of Zion [comes] the excellence of his beauty.

50:3 Elohim, our Elohim, shall come manifestly, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall be kindled before him, and round about him there shall be a very great tempest.

50:4 He shall summon the heaven above, and the earth, that he may judge his people.

50:5 Assemble ye his saints to him, those that have engaged in a covenant with him upon sacrifices.

50:6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for Elohim is judge. Pause.

50:7 Hear, my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel: and I will testify to thee: I am Elohim, thy Elohim.

50:8 I will not reprove thee on account of thy sacrifices; for thy whole-burnt-offerings are before me continually.

50:9 I will take no bullocks out of thine house, nor he-goats out of thy flocks.

50:10 For all the wild beasts of the thicket are mine, the cattle on the mountains, and oxen.

50:11 I know all the birds of the sky; and the beauty of the field is mine.

50:12 If I should be hungry, I will not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fullness of it.

50:13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

50:14 Offer to Elohim the sacrifice of praise; and pay thy vows to the Most High.

50:15 And call upon me in the day of affliction; and I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Pause.

50:16 But to the sinner Elohim has said, Why dost thou declare my ordinances, and take up my covenant in thy mouth?

50:17 Whereas thou hast hated instruction, and hast cast my words behind [thee].

50:18 If thou sawest a thief, thou rannest along with him, and hast cast in thy lot with adulterers.

50:19 Thy mouth has multiplied wickedness, and thy tongue has framed deceit.

50:20 Thou didst sit and speak against thy brother, and didst scandalize thy mother's son.

50:21 These things thou didst, and I kept silence: thou thoughtest wickedly that I should be like thee, [but] I will reprove thee, and set [thine offences] before thee.

50:22 Now consider these things, ye that forget Elohim, lest he rend [you], and there is no deliverer.

50:23 The sacrifice of praise will glorify me: and that is the way wherein I will shew to him the salvation of Elohim.

A Psalm of Asaph.

50:1 The mighty Elohim, even Yehovah, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

50:2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Elohim hath shined.

50:3 Our Elohim shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

50:4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

50:6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for Elohim is judge himself. Selah.

50:7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am Elohim, even thy Elohim.

50:8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

50:9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

50:10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

50:11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

50:12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

50:13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

50:14 Offer unto Elohim thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

50:16 But unto the wicked Elohim saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

50:17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.

50:18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

50:19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

50:20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

50:21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

50:22 Now consider this, ye that forget Elohim, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of Elohim.
