A Prayer of David. 86:1 O Yehovah, incline
thine ear, and hearken to me; for I am poor and needy.
86:2 Preserve my soul, for I am holy; save thy servant, O Elohim, who hopes in
thee.
86:3 Pity me, O Yehovah: for to thee will I cry all the day.
86:4 Rejoice the sold of thy servant: for to thee, O Yehovah, have I lifted up
my soul.
86:5 For thou, O Yehovah, art kind, and gentle; and plenteous in mercy to all
that call upon thee.
86:6 Give ear to my prayer, o Yehovah; and attend to the voice of my
supplication.
86:7 In the day of my trouble I cried to thee: for thou didst hear me.
86:8 There is none like to thee, O Yehovah, among the god; and there are no
[works] like to thy works.
86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come, and shall worship before
thee, O Yehovah; and shall glorify thy name.
86:10 For thou art great, and doest wonders: thou art the only [and] the
great Elohim.
86:11 Guide me, O Yehovah, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my
heart rejoice, that I may fear thy name.
86:12 I will give thee thanks, O Yehovah my Elohim, with all my heart; and I will
glorify thy name for ever.
86:13 For thy mercy is great toward me; and thou hast delivered my soul from
the lowest hell.
86:14 O Elohim, transgressors have risen up against me, and an assembly of
violent [men] have sought my life; and have not set thee before them.
86:15 But thou, O Yehovah Elohim, art compassionate and merciful, long-suffering,
and abundant in mercy and true.
86:16 Look thou upon me, and have mercy upon me: give thy strength to thy
servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
86:17 Establish with me a token for good; and let them that hate me see [it]
and be ashamed; because thou, O Yehovah, hast helped me, and comforted me. |

trusteth in thee.
86:3 Be merciful unto me, O Yehovah: for I cry unto thee daily.
86:4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Yehovah, do I lift up my
soul.
86:5 For thou, Yehovah, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy
unto all them that call upon thee.
86:6 Give ear, O Yehovah, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my
supplications.
86:7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer
me.
86:8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Yehovah; neither are there
any works like unto thy works.
86:9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O
Yehovah; and shall glorify thy name.
86:10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art Elohim alone.
86:11 Teach me thy way, O Yehovah; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to
fear thy name.
86:12 I will praise thee, O Yehovah my Elohim, with all my heart: and I will
glorify thy name for evermore.
86:13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from
the lowest hell.
86:14 O Elohim, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent
men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
86:15 But thou, O Yehovah, art a Elohim full of compassion, and gracious,
longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
86:16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy
servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
86:17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be
ashamed: because thou, Yehovah, hast holpen me, and comforted me. |
