Alleluia. 118:1 Give thanks to Yehovah;
for [he is] good: for his mercy [endures] for ever.
118:2 Let now the house of Israel say, that [he is] good: for his mercy
[endures] for ever.
118:3 Let now the house of Aaron say, that [he is] good: for his mercy
[endures] for ever.
118:4 Let now all that fear Yehovah say, that [he is] good: for his mercy
[endures] for ever.
118:5 I called on Yehovah out of affliction: and he hearkened to me, [so as
to bring me] into a wide place.
118:6 Yehovah is my helper; and I will not fear what man shall do to me.
118:7 Yehovah is my helper; and I shall see [my desire] upon mine enemies.
118:8 [It is] better to trust in Yehovah than to trust in man.
118:9 [It is] better to hope in Yehovah, than to hope in princes.
118:10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of Yehovah I
repulsed them.
118:11 They completely compassed me about: but in the name of Yehovah I
repulsed them.
118:12 They compassed me about as bees [do] a honeycomb, and they burst into
flame as fire among thorns: but in the name of Yehovah I repulsed them.
118:13 I was thrust, and sorely shaken, that I might fall: but Yehovah
helped me.
118:14 Yehovah is my strength and my song, and is become my salvation.
118:15 The voice of exultation and salvation is in the tabernacles of the
righteous: the right hand of Yehovah has wrought mightily.
118:16 The right hand of Yehovah has exalted me: the right hand of Yehovah
has wrought powerfully.
118:17 I shall not die, but live, and recount the works of Yehovah.
118:18 Yehovah has chastened me sore: but he has not given me up to death.
118:19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and give
praise to Yehovah.
118:20 This is the gate of Yehovah: the righteous shall enter by it.
118:21 I will give thanks to thee; because thou hast heard me, and art
become my salvation.
118:22 The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of
the corner.
118:23 This has been done of Yehovah; and it is wonderful in our eyes.
118:24 This is the day which Yehovah has made: let us exult and rejoice in
it.
118:25 O Yehovah, save now: O Yehovah, send now prosperity.
118:26 Blessed is he that comes in the name of Yehovah: we have blessed you
out of the house of Yehovah.
118:27 Elohim is Yehovah, and he has shined upon us: celebrate the feast with
thick [branches, binding the victims] even to the horns of the altar.
118:28 Thou art my Elohim, and I will give thee thanks: thou art my Elohim, and I
will exalt thee. I will give thanks to thee, for thou hast heard me, and art
become my salvation.
118:29 Give thanks to Yehovah; for he is good: for his mercy [endures] for
ever. |
118:1 O give thanks unto Yehovah;
for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.
118:2 Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
118:3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
118:4 Let them now that fear Yehovah say, that his mercy endureth for ever.
118:5 I called upon Yehovah in distress: Yehovah answered me, and set me
in a large place.
118:6 Yehovah is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
118:7 Yehovah taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see
my desire upon them that hate me.
118:8 It is better to trust in Yehovah than to put confidence in man.
118:9 It is better to trust in Yehovah than to put confidence in princes.
118:10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of Yehovah will I
destroy them.
118:11 They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the
name of Yehovah I will destroy them.
118:12 They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of
thorns: for in the name of Yehovah I will destroy them.
118:13 Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might fall: but Yehovah helped
me.
118:14 Yehovah is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.
118:15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the
righteous: the right hand of Yehovah doeth valiantly.
118:16 The right hand of Yehovah is exalted: the right hand of Yehovah
doeth valiantly.
118:17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of Yehovah.
118:18 Yehovah hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto
death.
118:19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I
will praise Yehovah:
118:20 This gate of Yehovah, into which the righteous shall enter.
118:21 I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my
salvation.
118:22 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the
corner.
118:23 This is Yehovah's doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
118:24 This is the day which Yehovah hath made; we will rejoice and be glad
in it.
118:25 Save now, I beseech thee, O Yehovah: O Yehovah, I beseech thee, send now
prosperity.
118:26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name of Yehovah: we have blessed
you out of the house of Yehovah.
118:27 Elohim is Yehovah, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with
cords, even unto the horns of the altar.
118:28 Thou art my Elohim, and I will praise thee: thou art my Elohim, I will
exalt thee.
118:29 O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good: for his mercy endureth
for ever. |
