Is the Trinity biblical? Is Yeshua Elohim?

Jason Lauterbach

The Trinity is probably the most popular doctrine of Christianity. It has been widely preached within the churches around the world. They even came up with a complex “image” which is supposed to explain their theory of the Trinity. It shows how Yeshua, the Spirit and the Father are “one and the same substance”:

Trinity explained

But is this concept actually biblical? Or is it just another form of interpretation? Did Yeshua really teach us anything about the Trinity? The best way to answer this question is to examine the Bible and especially Yeshua own statements.

The Trinity was INVENTED by the Catholic Church and is therefore not biblical

It is known today that the Trinity was DEVELOPED by the Catholic Church between the years 325 and 675. You can even read it on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trinity

Therefore, it is no wonder that neither Yeshua’ disciples, nor Paul, nor the rest of the early Christians knew anything about a Trinity, let alone ever mentioned it. In fact, the belief in a Trinitarian Elohim is merely a pagan custom that was adopted to make Christianity more pleasant to pagans and to dissociate the Christian Church from Judaism.

The Trinitarian Baptismal Formula was subsequently inserted into the Bible by the Catholic Church

The only verse in the Bible that could indicate that a Trinity exists is this one:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19)

But the problem is that this Bible verse was actually added deliberately to the Bible by the Catholic Church. This Bible verse does not exist in the original Hebrew text of the Gospel of Matthew. This means: The Catholic Church has falsified the Bible to support its own interests. The Trinity is therefore not a biblical teaching, but merely invented by the Church. You don’t have to believe me, you can examine it yourself. Here is the original version of the Hebrew Gospel of Matthew translated to English:

We should be baptized in the name of Yeshua

In fact, the Bible always says that we should be baptized in the name of Yeshua. And nothing else. Here’s one example:

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

However, there is much more evidence that we should only be baptized in Yeshua name: Acts 8:16, 10:48, 19: 5, Romans 6: 3, 1 Corinthians 12: 12-13, Galatians 3:27

Is the Trinity in the Bible? Elohim, the Father, is also the Spirit

Let us start out with Elohim Himself. The first great mistake of the Trinity is to separate Elohim and the Spirit from each other. Because Elohim is the Spirit! Yeshua himself makes this statement. And the Old Testament says nothing else. Already the beginning of the Bible says that the Spirit of Elohim moves over the waters:

In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved upon the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)

If this passage didn’t already clarify that Elohim is the Creator AND the Spirit, we should take a look at the 10 Commandments in the Bible. One of these commandments forbids us to make an image of Elohim. To make an image of Him would be like the worship of another, false Elohim. That Elohim tells us that we shouldn’t make any image of Him, clearly shows us that there is no image of Him. He doesn’t resemble anything. Neither in heaven nor on earth. He is the invisible Elohim.

I am Yehovah thy Elohim, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other Elohims before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Yehovah thy Elohim am a jealous Elohim, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:2-6)

But what does it mean if Elohim doesn’t correspond to anything that exists in heaven or on earth? It simply means that Elohim is Spirit. And spirit is invisible. Elohim doesn’t have an appearance, which means that Yeshua cannot be Elohim. However, the Spirit of Elohim can dwell in Yeshua!

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Elohimhead bodily. (Colossians 2:8-9)

Is the Trinity biblical? Yeshua says: Elohim is spirit!

If the biblical passages mentioned above weren’t clear enough, we should take a look on Yeshua own statement. Check this Bible verse:

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. Elohim is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:22-24)

This verse doesn’t only clarify that Elohim is Spirit, it also explains that the salvation comes from the Jews. Because the Jews know who they worship: the only true Elohim. This statement of Yeshua leaves no room for interpretation. He refers to the Old Testament and confirms it in a clear statement: Elohim is spirit. Whosoever confesses to Yeshua, must also believe his own words.

Who is Yeshua?

Now that we have clarified that Elohim is the Spirit, we can continue with Yeshua. What does the Bible say? Is Yeshua Elohim or not? Everything Trinity teachers can provide to prove their theory, are vain interpretations. The following Bible verses are often used to explain why Yeshua is supposed to be Elohim:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. The same was in the beginning with Elohim. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

But are these verses really saying that Yeshua is Elohim? They say that Elohim created everything through the word and nothing was created without the word. In the word was the life and the light for the people. The word itself is also Elohim.

If Elohim is the word and everything that exists is created by the word, it means that Elohim exists in everything that lives. For in Him is life. The New Testament also confirms that Elohim will be all in all. Read it yourself:

For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that Elohim may be all in all. (1 Corinthians 15:27-28)

This verse doesn’t only state that Elohim becomes all in all, but also that Yeshua submits Himself to Elohim. That’s why, he possibly can’t be Elohim. Because he can’t submit himself to himself. But let’s move on.

The word became flesh

What does John mean by saying that the Word became flesh and Yeshua is the only begotten Son of Elohim? The following Bible verses explain it very precisely:

And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Yeshua saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning. I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. Then said Yeshua unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. (John 8:23-29)

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:6-7)

Yeshua explains that he was born of the Spirit of Elohim and therefore belongs to the kingdom of Elohim. He is not born of flesh, but of spirit (Elohim)! That’s why he is also the only begotten son. He said himself that he does exactly what his Father tells him to do. When he speaks of the Father, he refers to the Spirit of Elohim which dwells in him. This is what he means when he says that the Father lives in him.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. (John 14:10)

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. (John 10:37-38)

Yeshua is the Son of Elohim

Yeshua didn’t come to reveal himself as Elohim, but to deliver the Spirit of Elohim to us. He says that he is the source of eternal life and that no one comes to the Father except through him. He is the heir of the kingdom of Elohim. He is the firstborn and the other children will follow. If somebody believes in Yeshua he can become a child of Elohim. Yeshua wants us to be born in the same way as he was. But if we become like Him, will we be Elohim then? Certainly not. We become children of Elohim, but we won’t ever be Elohim. We will be children of Elohim, just as Yeshua is the Son of Elohim. And that means that we won’t belong to this world anymore. Read these Bible verses:

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Yeshua said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. (John 6:51-58)

Yeshua answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:13-14)

The Trinity is not biblical, because everyone can become a child of Elohim

Yeshua wants us to become one with the Father, just as he is one with Him. He also calls himself son of man. Have you kept in mind what is written in John 1:1? Elohim himself is life. Yeshua wants us to drink from the well, so that we may live forever. The source of which Yeshua speaks is Elohim. Because Elohim speaks the Word and in Him is eternal life. Yeshua is born of the spirit of Elohim, just as we should be born of Him. That doesn’t mean that Yeshua is Elohim, but the son of Elohim, just as it is written in the Bible.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Elohim, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Elohim. (John 1:12-13)

Whoever believes in Yeshua receives the right to become a child of Elohim. This clearly shows that Elohim is spirit. And on the other hand it shows that Yeshua is the son of Elohim, because He is born of Elohim, just as we should be. Here are a few more Bible verses to prove this fact:

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15:18-19)

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one. (John 17:21-22)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (John 14:12)

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Messiah, whom thou hast sent. (John 17: 3)

Yeshua saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my Elohim, and your Elohim. (John 20:17)

Conclusion: The Trinity is not in the Bible

Is the Trinity biblical? Neither the Old Testament, nor the New Testament, nor Yeshua himself teaches us anything about the Trinity. There isn’t a single verse in the Bible which clearly says that Yeshua is Elohim. But in order to understand this, you first have to understand the doctrine of Yeshua, which teaches us that Elohim lives in his children and therefore anyone can become one with Elohim, just as Yeshua did. When you read the Bible, you have to believe what is says without interpreting it. We don’t have the right to interpret the word of Elohim. You can’t come up with your own theories and claim it to be the one and only truth. You also shouldn’t believe any preachers or pastors who are only interested in proclaiming their own opinions. But anyhow, it is impossible to understand the New Testament if you haven’t read the Old Testament. It has always been sin to worship anything beside Elohim. And this won’t ever change. For Elohim’s word is everlasting. There will always be only one Elohim. And this Elohim is Spirit.

Old Testament: Hear, O Israel: Yehovah our Elohim is one Yehovah. (Deuternomy 6:4)

New Testament: And Yeshua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; Yehovah our Elohim is one Yehovah. (Mark 12:29)

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true Elohim, and Yeshua Messiah, whom thou hast sent. (John 17:3)

For there is one Elohim, and one mediator between Elohim and men, the man Messiah Yeshua; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (1 Thimothy 2:5-6)
