I Chronicles 16

I Chronicles 16

16:1 So they brought in the ark of Elohim, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle which David pitched for it; and they offered whole-burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Elohim.

16:2 And David finished offering up whole-burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and blessed the people in the name of Yehovah.

16:3 And he divided to every man of Israel (both men and women), to [every] man one baker's loaf, and a cake.

16:4 And he appointed before the ark of the covenant of Yehovah, Levites to minister [and] lift up the voice, and to give thanks and praise Yehovah Elohim of Israel:

16:5 Asaph [was] the chief, and next to him Zacharias, Jeiel, Semiramoth, and Jeiel, Mattathias, Eliab, and Banaeas, and Abdedom: and Jeiel sounding with musical instruments, lutes [and] harps, and Asaph with cymbals:

16:6 and Banaeas and Oziel the priests [sounding] continually with trumpets before the ark of the covenant of Elohim in that day.

16:7 Then David first gave orders to praise Yehovah by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

16:8 Song. Give thanks to Yehovah, call upon him by his name, make known his designs among the people.

16:9 Sing [songs] to him, and sing hymns to him, relate to all [people] his wonderful deeds, which Yehovah has wrought.

16:10 Praise his holy name, the heart that seeks his pleasure shall rejoice.

16:11 Seek Yehovah and be strong, seek his face continually.

16:12 Remember his wonderful works which he has wrought, his wonders, and the judgments of is mouth;

16:13 [ye] seed of Israel his servants, [ye] seed of Jacob his chosen ones.

16:14 He [is] Yehovah our Elohim; his judgments [are] in all the earth.

16:15 Let us remember his covenant for ever, his word which he commanded to a thousand generations,

16:16 which he covenanted with Abraham, and his oath [sworn] to Isaac.

16:17 He confirmed it to Jacob for an ordinance, to Israel [as] an everlasting covenant,

16:18 saying, To thee will I give the land of Chanaan, the line of your inheritance:

16:19 when they were few in number, when they were but little, and dwelt as strangers in it;

16:20 and went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.

16:21 He suffered not a man to oppress them, and he reproved kings for their sakes,

16:22 saying, Touch not my anointed ones, and deal not wrongfully with my prophets.

16:23 Sing ye to Yehovah, all the earth; proclaim his salvation from day to day.

16:24 Declare among the nations his glory, his wondrous deeds among all peoples.

16:25 For Yehovah [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be feared above all gods.

16:26 For all the gods of the nations [are] idols; but our Elohim made the heavens.

16:27 Glory and praise [are] in his presence; strength and rejoicing [are] in his place.

16:28 Give to Yehovah, ye families of the nations, give to Yehovah glory and strength.

16:29 Give to Yehovah the glory [belonging] to his name: take gifts and offer [them] before him; and worship Yehovah in his holy courts.

16:30 Let the whole earth fear before him; let the earth be established, and not be moved.

16:31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult; and let them say among the nations, Yehovah reigns.

16:32 The sea with its fullness shall resound and the tree of the field, and all things in it.

16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood rejoice before Yehovah, for he is come to judge the earth.

16:34 Give thanks to Yehovah, for [it is] good, for his mercy [is] for ever.

16:35 And say ye, Save us, O Elohim of our salvation, and gather us, and rescue us from among the heathen, that we may praise thy holy name, and glory in thy praises.

16:36 Blessed [be] Yehovah Elohim of Israel from everlasting and to everlasting: And all the people shall say, Amen. So they praised Yehovah.

16:37 And they left there Asaph and his brethren before the ark of the covenant of Yehovah, to minister before the ark continually, according to the service of each day: from day to day.

16:38 And Abdedom and his brethren [were] sixty and eight; and Abdedom the son of Idithun, and Osa, [were] to be door-keepers.

16:39 And [they appointed] Sadoc the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of Yehovah in the high place in Gabaon,

16:40 to offer up whole-burnt-offerings continually morning and evening, and according to all things written in the law of Yehovah, which he commanded the children of Israel by Moses the servant of Elohim.

16:41 And with him [were] Aeman and Idithun, and the rest chosen out by name to praise Yehovah, for his mercy [endures] for ever.

16:42 And with them [there were] trumpets and cymbals to sound aloud, and musical instruments for the songs of Elohim: and the sons of Idithun [were] at the gate.

16:43 And all the people went every one to his home: and David returned to bless his house.

16:1 So they brought the ark of Elohim, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before Elohim.

16:2 And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yehovah.

16:3 And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

16:4 And he appointed certain of the Levites to minister before the ark of Yehovah, and to record, and to thank and praise Yehovah Elohim of Israel:

16:5 Asaph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom: and Jeiel with psalteries and with harps; but Asaph made a sound with cymbals;

16:6 Benaiah also and Jahaziel the priests with trumpets continually before the ark of the covenant of Elohim.

16:7 Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank Yehovah into the hand of Asaph and his brethren.

16:8 Give thanks unto Yehovah, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

16:9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.

16:10 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Yehovah.

16:11 Seek Yehovah and his strength, seek his face continually.

16:12 Remember his marvelous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

16:13 O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

16:14 He is Yehovah our Elohim; his judgments are in all the earth.

16:15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

16:16 Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;

16:17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

16:18 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;

16:19 When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.

16:20 And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

16:21 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,

16:22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

16:23 Sing unto Yehovah, all the earth; show forth from day to day his salvation.

16:24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvelous works among all nations.

16:25 For great is Yehovah, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

16:26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but Yehovah made the heavens.

16:27 Glory and honor are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.

16:28 Give unto Yehovah, ye kindred of the people, give unto Yehovah glory and strength.

16:29 Give unto Yehovah the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship Yehovah in the beauty of holiness.

16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, Yehovah reigneth.

16:32 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

16:33 Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of Yehovah, because he cometh to judge the earth.

16:34 O give thanks unto Yehovah; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

16:35 And say ye, Save us, O Elohim of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

16:36 Blessed be Yehovah Elohim of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised Yehovah.

16:37 So he left there before the ark of the covenant of Yehovah Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required:

16:38 And Obededom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obededom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:

16:39 And Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of Yehovah in the high place that was at Gibeon,

16:40 To offer burnt offerings unto Yehovah upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of Yehovah, which he commanded Israel;

16:41 And with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to Yehovah, because his mercy endureth for ever;

16:42 And with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of Elohim. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.

16:43 And all the people departed every man to his house: and David returned to bless his house.
